Dear Valued Customer,
Following our message of 20.03.2026 we would like to inform you about the development of the Energy Emergency Surcharge (EES). Unfortunately the costs for gasoil and fuel are still increasing because of the situation in the Middle East and the closing of the Strait of Hormuz in particular. Our vendors within the Hutchison Ports Europe Intermodal (HPEI) network continue with an increased EES which HPEI is forced to pass on to its customers. This measure is intended to mitigate the financial impact of the sudden increase in energy costs and to ensure continuity of transport service during this period of uncertainty.
Therefore, the EES will be adjusted per 01.04.2026 until further notice, in addition to the monthly Energy Adjustment Factor (EAF). This EES is applicable on the following inland locations at this moment:
